A Severe Conflict Of Interest, Combined With An Inexcusable Cluelessness

Par for the course. One of the VP debate moderators is working on a book called, "Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama," to be published on inauguration day. And McCain, of course, approved of the moderator while somehow not knowing this.

Says a commenter here:

Yet another unforced error by the McCain campaign. Looking for an unbiased moderator from PBS is like looking for a non-racist in the KKK or NAACP. Talk about a fool’s errand!

Too bad (from their own point of view) that the MSM did not propose that Howard Dean, Gloria Steinem and Michael Moore be a trio of moderators for this debate. Would the McCain campaign have agreed, or would they have insisted on Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and Hugo Chavez instead?

One bad week for McCain has now turned into an even worse second one. One dreads next week, although the McCain campaign will be hard-pressed to top the idiocy of the last two. Maybe a 57-state landslide for the Messiah is not out of the question after all.
