Are The Tyrants This Insane?

Wizbang:

This, if true, crosses the line:

The twisted scheme by which Democratic leaders plan to bend the rules to ram President Obama's massive health care legislation through Congress now has a name: the Slaughter Solution.

The Slaughter Solution is a plan by Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY), the Democratic chair of the powerful House Rules Committee and a key ally of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), to get the health care legislation through the House without an actual vote on the Senate-passed health care bill. You see, Democratic leaders currently lack the votes needed to pass the Senate health care bill through the House. Under Slaughter's scheme, Democratic leaders will overcome this problem by simply "deeming" the Senate bill passed in the House - without an actual vote by members of the House.

We are reaching a point, some might argue that we've already passed it, that would suggest that it's time to take our country back... by any and all means...

Blood has been shed over less.

We live in precipitous times.

>> Blood has been shed over less

Seriously? Are you advocating hurting people? Or is the argument "some dude got mugged over $10, so yeah, blood has been shed over less."

Look, I'm all for citizens maintaining control over their government, but let's not get all nutjobby.

Paul -

Are you suggesting that possibly passing something that'll affect 1/6th of the US economy WITHOUT voting on it is something we should just go "Dang - we'll have to watch them closer next time!" and accept it peacefully?

It's hard to believe the folks in Washington don't already have a good idea about how people in this country are thinking about them - Ghu knows they're doing polls about this, that, and the other thing and getting results which - in a rational mindset - would lead them to reconsider whether they SHOULD be sticking their hands into a live fuse box and grabbing all that shiny copper.

But this - they're climbing up a high-tension tower with a ground strap solidly on their ankles and shouting "Hey y'all! Watch this!" as they prepare to leap off and grab a 50kv line with both hands.

It is going to be SPECTACULAR - and not in the way they're expecting.

This, of course, begs the question of where, exactly, the line is for getting "all nutjobby" about.

A lot of people are "all nutjobby" about that Constitution thingy. The Dems appear to be willing to discard it. A lot of people have died defending it. That's pretty "nutjobby" ain't it?

"Liberals" tend to puff up Jefferson to an inordinate importance among the Founding Fathers (he was actually very minor as a FF, very unimportant).

Didn't Jefferson say, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
