I think one of the main points of all the hyping of embryonic stem cell research (ESCR) is to build a protective moat around abortion. If ESCR is okay, then there is nothing sacred about the embryo, so ipso facto, abortion is A-OK. It's all of a piece.
I am reminded of all this by a Doug TenNapel post which deconstructs an Ayn Rand Institute article from our "hating the little guy" libertarian friends.
