Obama is a rhetorical genius when there is a teleprompter in front of him. Otherwise,
not so much. More of a garden-variety doofus. Soon, we'll no doubt be instructed by all the Bush-despising Obama-worshiping leftists that slick rhetorical skill is vastly overrated and a distinct sign of inauthenticity.

The snarking away about Bush's "inarticulateness" reminds me of a scene from the old Batman movie. I'm a middle-age guy so "old" means the 1966 one. Batman presents Joker, Catwoman, Penguin and Riddler to a grand jury for indictment on a long string of crimes, including extortion, blackmail, kidnapping, conspiracy to commit genocide...
(Adam West pauses, deadpan, as only he can)
...and overtime parking.
I just can't get that out of my head when they choose to go there. After all, if Bush is guilty of lying to get us into a war that would kill thousands of troops and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, and "should be tried at the Hague" according to Rosie O -- if I can really be convinced of all that -- why in the world would I care about poor speech-making in public?
That said, you're right. Very soon the ability to speak in public will be "overrated." But I don't think it'll happen until after Jan. 20. Perhaps that evening, after the inaugural festivities are over?
