I found the Anchoress post disturbing. While she was always respectful of Jews, the bottom line is that because of their essential Jewishness they can never be other than a Jew. Much of the historical writing on negroes was pretty much the same kind of thing. I believe that in America one has a birthright to be whatever one wants to be. If one wishes to assimilate, even into the sniff and pat society, one should be able to do so. Supporting the view that one cannot, ever, no matter what, do so is disturbing. If it seems to be true, it is true because of people like the Anchoress spreading the ancient “wisdom”. “I have a dream.” is America. This creeping Europeanism is not a good thing for America.
