I Doubt That 40 Years Of Bitterness, Delusion, And Paranoia End Quite That Easily, Betty

Letter to the SF Chronicle:

Editor - For 40 years I have not risen for the American flag or national anthem. It started with the My Lai massacre. Today I have decided to again honor the flag and anthem. Now they stands for a population that says "we can," that gives us hope, that charges us to work for change.

As proud as I am that Barack Obama has won, I am even more proud of what America has accomplished in casting ballots for him and the concepts for which he stands.
