The Via Crucis

For me, the biggest life-changing revelation of the last several years is that the way to Heaven is through taking up The Cross. Our Savior forged the path. There is no other. We must walk in imitation of Him and hang there with Him, like Dismas, "The Good Thief", who, after having said to Jesus, "Remember me Lord, when you come into your Kingdom", was told the greatest thing you'd ever want to hear: "Today you will be with me in Paradise".

The Anchoress
understands The Cross. In this post, she says everything I'd be able to say about it, and more. It's a beautifully literary piece, too.

A compact and interesting list of Scripture references to the cross and suffering is here.

Matthew 10:38
Whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
